Description
In a world that has tragically misidentified the Bible as a mere sourcebook for doctrine, dogma, and religious rules, The Book About the Book is a spiritual memoir about discovering Scripture’s poetic love story of God wooing humankind as a bride in a world where we humans have lost the plot.
In an adobe barn on a former hippie commune in New Mexico, Paul read the Bible from Genesis to Revelation for the first time. At one point, he spit on it in disgust. But before long, the gospel story of the rich young man inspired him to sell his 1978 Harley Davidson Sportster and follow Jesus on a globe-spanning adventure working with Christian churches across the Americas, Asia, and Africa.
Along the way, a deep, decade-long literary love affair with Scripture opened his eyes to the Bible’s allegory of a God who longs to be one with humankind so our love can rule the world. Like life itself, The Book About the Book is an epic adventure about finding yourself in a love story, getting engaged, and writing the next chapter with your life.
